About the Blue Moon Wicked 10k:
The Blue Moon Wicked 10k, presented by Bon Secours in Motion, is easily Virginia Beach's largest outdoor Halloween costume party! Following its inaugural run in 2009, the race has become an annual favorite with locals and visitors alike, as participants are encouraged to have fun, be creative, and dress up for the Halloween season. A costume contest awards great prizes for the best individual, pair, and group entry, with the only requirement being that contestants have to complete the race at any pace in the costume of their choice! But the flat, fast, oceanfront course is also perfect for all who want to challenge their personal records--in or out of costume! The Monster Mile gives everyone in the family an opportunity to take part in the weekend, and we are excited to have Old Point National Bank on board as the title sponsor for that great event in 2011. Topping everything off, the rockin' post race party on the beach featuring live music, Baker's Crust Chili, and pleny of Blue Moon beverages is second to none. With 10,000 participants expected for 2011, this year's event will be bigger and better than ever!
