A Dolphin's Promise

A Dolphin's Promise is a non profit organization working in partnership with the City of Virginia Beach.  Their goal is to bring hundreds of life size sculptures of dolphins to the shores and neighborhoods of our beautiful city.  Funds raised from the sale of these dolphin's go to the Lance Armstrong Foundation and to the Virginia Aquarium Stranding Response Program.

Today, one in every two men will be diagnosed with cancer and one in every three women.  This is a fact that we, at a Dolphin's Promise, find unacceptable.  Through our work with the Lance Armstrong Foundation, we contribute to medical research and help those battling cancer to LIVESTRONG.

Come run or walk and feel the healing powers of A Dolphin's Promise.  Every dolphin you see represents our promise to raise $1,000,000 to help find a cure.

Team Groove                                  

Team Groove is a running team that raises money for the Mike McGreevy Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The Mike McGreevy Memorial Scholarship Fund is a charitable corporation founded in the memory of LT. Mike McGreevy, Jr. Mike was a Navy SEAL killed in action on June 28, 2005 in Afghanistan while he and seven other SEALS were attempting to rescue four fellow teammates under enemy fire on the ground.  Mike lived his life constantly striving to be a better person, while fully enjoying each day, however challenging or mundate it might be.  He did most everything with purpose, joy, and calm integrity.  Mike was an avid runner and exceptional athlete who would participate in many local races when he was in town.  He earned the nickname "Groove" in college because of his last name and his ability to tear up the dance floor!

Mike made a positive impact on the world and we wish to encourage individuals who will do the same.  The scholarship is awarded annually to two recipetents who exemplify the traits that Mike stood for.  One recipient is chosen annually from Virginia Beach or Norfolk, and the other from Mike's home town of Portville, NY.
